Due to the growth of the event over the last several years, we have decided to add a day to the event. Competition in the Empress Ballroom will now start on the Thursday of WDM25.

The Thursday of the event will be hosted in the Empress Ballroom only, with a social dancing pre-party in the Spanish Hall on Thursday evening. The Arena and Spanish Hall will officially kick off on Friday morning, as usual.

The benefits of this change will be clear. We’ll be able to run a World Championship that allows more time throughout the weekend – hopefully avoiding 07:00 opening times and the ability to conduct much of the competition between 09:00 – 18:00, allowing evenings to be dedicated to social dancing and the Saturday Night Show.

We have heard your feedback after the event about the system of entry for the Saturday Night Show.

This has always been a challenge for us to manage due to the small size of our team.

In WDM25, we'll introduce an optional seat reservation system to watch the show in the Empress Ballroom. Seat reservations will cost £5 and be completely optional but offer an opportunity for those who would like to guarantee a seat on the main floor in advance and reduce the need to queue. We will stream the show live in the Arena and Spanish Hall for anyone who wants to watch from those ballrooms. Seat selection for this will go on sale in early 2025.
